3.0Not compatible with mesh networks
I had thought the Switch+ looked like a great idea for a specific room in my house. I checked on compatibility online and on the packaging and all looked fine. As others have noted, it has limited compatibility with wiring setups but that wasn't a problem in my house. When I got it all wired up and running, it wouldn't connect to my wifi. After contacting Ecobee, they noted that it wasn't compatible with mesh networks - none of them. I have an Eero mesh network router (sold in all Best Buy stores) so I contacted them too to see if they had a workaround. Nope. I had to return the Switch+. There is no mention of the lack of compatibility on their web site or packaging.

Good idea but so far not working
Had to contact service to ask for help. Amazon Alexa does not work usually. Ecobee is sending a replacement.

Great first product, needs additional features
I am comparing this to other devices on the market. I have 38 switches, thermostats etc controlled by Alexa. (Nest, Ecobee thermostats, Wemo switches, Ecobee Switches. I thikn it's a great first attempt and will do everything you will want except for the following things; You can't change the Alexa WAKE word to something other than ALEXA. I use "COMPUTER" on all of the other devices. That is a software change and hopefully not a licensing issue (it's probably a licensing issue!) I hope they can get that done. If you use Alexa for everything it's no big deal but its driving me crazy. I have WEMO switches that allow you to set specific times of the day to come on and off. RULES and such... Ecobee needs to add that. Again, hopefully just software. I assumed they had them but it doesn't. Quike frankly this is the reason they lost 1.5 stars. This unit has sensors to turns things on when someone enters the room. nice, but I don't need that. It's not the same thing. I originally went with the ECOBEE because WEMO won't let you control more than one home from a smart phone. It seems to be a little slower than the DOT and ECHO at acknowledging the WAKE word and turning the blue light on. I am not sure if it is a processor or something else like architecture. I don't think it's me.... maybe someone can explain what I think I'm seeing. The unit will only handle 600 watts incandescent and 150 watts LED. I have no idea why there is a difference? I thought a Watt was a Watt on a SPST switch. While this should be enough for lighting it is less than the WEMO switches which are double that, around 1200 or 1500 watts as I remember. I am not sure if it is going to overheat or just stop drawing over 600 watts or how it knows its LED. My son has a large chandelier with 54 3.5 watt chandelier LED light bulbs. This is not the switch for that unit. Based on how the electrical is wired, some wall switches have one 14/2 wire coming into the switch box with the power already at the light overhead. The light switch simply connects the two wires to complete the circuit. In that case you have a one hot wire and one wire going back to the fixture with the power. It also has a bear ground wire. Electricians will use the black for power and the white for return power. The white in this case is not the neutral. This unit will not work with this configuration. They need a white wire, probably to complete the circuit to keep the electronics working. I just opened up one of my switches to install this and found out there is no white wire. This is a great first attempt at switch; hopefully some of the changes above are just software upgrades that can be made to this unit free of charge. At Christmas etc I was buying ECHO Dot's for $29. You can get the Echo DOT and the WEMO brand switch and its costs less. No Alexa built in but Alexa DOT can control the WEMO switch and I can use the wake word COMPUTER!. The Ecobee good in the kitchen where you might not want an Echo device sitting on your counter but the ALEXA stuff isn't enough to get me excited about buying this switch for other rooms. Again the reason I got it was because of WEMO limitations and it addressed that for me. Fix the wake word, add rules for going on and of at specific times such as "15 minutes after sunset for 5 hours" and such with some software and this would go to 4.8 stars!

Sensors not working yet and no dimmer
I got this for the sensors build into it and the whole integrations with their Thermostats but they have not yet release the update to make them work, and there is no dimmer nor a possibility from the developer to add it since the hardware do not permit to do so

Possibly the best switch money can buy
This Alexa enabled light switch does exactly what it says. Installation is a breeze if you are familiar with your household wiring, and even if you aren’t there’s always YouTube for that. If you like Alexa and voice controlled light switches, this product is for you. Can’t wait for the dimmer switch version to be released.

It will not have all the Echo features
Installation is easy with clear DIY instructions. Looks cool once installed. A great conversation piece. It will not play nice with Spotify, it will not work with Alexa drop in intercom feature, microphones not as good as any Echo products. In my opinion, for the same price you can find a Echo dot (on sale) and a lutron caseta dimmer.

Amazing smart switch, great value for money
For those with an Ecobee this is an amazing add on - you not only get a smart switch (that can be controlled by the Ecobee app & the apple homekit/siri, google home, IFTTT and they say it can be controlled by Alexa, but so far the Ecobee skill just gives Alexa temp control for me). As far as sensors go the switch has a light/lux sensor/temp sensor/motion &occupancy sensor (I believe the difference has to do with 1 being used for detecting motion right now vs motion within the last 5 min as normal Ecobee sensors work) & they say it is sensitive to humidity to a certain percentage, but from everything I've seen it doesn't actually have a humidity sensor (or at least it's not enabled). The switch is setup using the Ecobee app, so no other apps necessary, where you select whether it will be used to control an indoor or outdoor light switch. This basically determines how it will behave when the sun goes down and it detects motion. When it gets dark there is a nifty little LED that points downward underneath the switch so you can find it & isn't invasive at all - and within the app you control the timer regarding when it should automatically shut off the light (when it's dark). The Alexa bit is, well, Alexa - it can do almost everything a regular Echo can do except you can't rename the call word (although I feel like I'm the only one that changed it to Echo...) & you can't use the 'drop in' feature which allows you to use Echos as an intercom - this is something that really bums me out. Because of this I don't think you can initiate calls from the switch, but I do know that when you use the new 'notify all' feature Alexa on the Ecobee Switch+ is included in your broadcast. It's an amazing bit of kit packed into a light switch (which is often on sale for $79!)

Very Convenient
This is a great product but still has room to grow. My only complaint is I don't see it in my Alexa app. Therefor I can't use it as a drop in device which would be a really nice feature.

Great Smart Switch
Was leery on the idea of a smart wall switch until I tried it out. Install and setup was a breeze, took all of 15 min. Alexa usage is a quick setup on the phone and away you go. When this is activated as a room sensor with my ecobee thermostat it will be even better!
